As we approach Easter Sunday, it’s important for us to take some time to reflect on the events leading up to the most significant day in the Christian faith.
For many of us, the story of the crucifixion, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ is one that we’ve heard countless times before. However, it’s important for us to revisit this story with fresh eyes, to truly comprehend the magnitude of what happened on this holy day.
The crucifixion of Jesus Christ and His subsequent resurrection is not just a story to be told, it is a story that has shaped the course of human history. It is a story that tells us of God’s love for us and the depths to which He is willing to go to redeem mankind.
But what really happened from the moment Jesus was nailed to the cross to the time He rose again?
What went on between the cross, the crucifixion, and the three days that Jesus spent in the tomb?
The Crucifixion of Jesus: a historic event
The crucifixion of Jesus is widely regarded as a historic event that has shaped the course of human history. It represents a pivotal moment in Christian theology and is the centrepiece of the Christian faith.

More Than Religion
There are, undoubtedly, many ‘religious’ people who know the story or history behind these events, but they are not connected to the power that can be experienced through them. That is because the power related to these awesome events is not in religion but revelation.
You see, you can do many things from the standpoint of religion, but religion does not produce reality. It is revelation that produces reality.
Deuteronomy 29:29 says, “The secret things belong unto the Lord our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us…” What is not your revelation can never be your possession. You possess it to the extent it has been revealed.
Beyond Bible Stories
Beloved, the events that took place from the Cross of Calvary, to the grave where Jesus was buried, and finally to His rise from the grave, are more than just good Bible stories to be recounted. They contain deep revelations that are capable of transmogrifying your entire life and existence on earth.
It is, therefore, of utmost importance that you understand the implications or significance of all that Jesus went through, so you can also experience their reality, benefits, or manifestation in your life.
A Brief Peep
At the Cross, the LORD God laid on Jesus the iniquity of the world. The Man, Jesus Christ, became both the Scapegoat and the sin Offering that were portrayed in the Old Testament.
The High Priest offered Him as the Passover Lamb, in what would be his last assignment as High Priest.
From the Cross, the Master was lowered into the belly of the earth where He went to fulfil the claims of justice and pay the penalty for the sins of mankind.
So, whatever you were meant to suffer or pay because of your sins, Jesus went there to pay it, and today, YOU OWE THE DEVIL NOTHING!
But that wasn’t the end.
On the third day, the Master arose in victory on behalf of mankind. It was the greatest victory for you and me — the victory of life over death, love over hate, good over evil, light over darkness, truth over lie, and MUCH MORE!
Hence, the revelations of the resurrection are worth your time and attention.
I want to implore you, as I did in the first book of this series, to be sensitive to the Holy Spirit as you read through, and let Him speak to you personally and address any situations, circumstances, or destiny matters in your life.
At some points, you may feel the need to pause and pray, or make some declarations that the Lord impresses on your heart. If that happens, please follow the lead in your spirit.
